Alicia Archibald is President of BETTR Recycling, Inc., a corporation that provides education and consulting services in the areas of recycling, alternative fuels and sustainability planning.
Alicia began her journey in recycling in 2000 when she was the program director for the Clean Air Campaign's BETTR electronics recycling program. BETTR was the first program to implement a computer collection event in Colorado Springs on Earthday 2001. Some might call Alicia a pioneer in that respect.
Since then she has contracted with various private businesses and government agencies to develop programs and materials that provide sustainable solutions for communities, individuals and businesses. Some of her work today includes Fort Carson Sustainability Planning, the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition, the Dept. of Energy's Clean Cities Program, and the Governor's Energy Office Biofuels Coalition.
Her commitment to seeing the local community become more sustainable is evident in her volunteer work with the Citizens’ Transportation Advisory Board and the Green Cities Coalition Recycling Working Group. She is also on the board of Directors for the Colorado Association For Recycling.
